American Progressive Metal unit Shade of Memories have brought us the newest single from their upcoming album Out From The Caldera via GlobMetal Promotions. Mixed and mastered by Delwrick Studios, the song features guest vocals from Priscilla Wenzel who specializes in Folk, Fantasy, and Celtic sounds.

Formed in 2013, in the Seattle/Tacoma areas of Washington by Jay Pratt as a one-man project, Shade of Memories debuted Glaciers of Tomorrow in 2021 – the band’s first album. Quickly amassing the attention of metalheads across the globe, the solo project garnered listens and looks from magazines, and fans alike. The new single “Dark Summer Silence” which first debuted on October 31st, 2022, has already caught the attention of fans, with the accompaniment of Priscilla Wenzel joining in for clean/harmonious vocals that give Shade of Memories, a new layer of intrigue.
The animated video pieces together symphonic elements with new world, modern sounds heavily impacted by the steady beat of heated drums. With flames licking at our very eyes, we bear witness to the strange and new unfolding before us. Twists of mechanical networks rotate and shift, adding to that progressive, almost industrial feel. While short in length, this track packs in the impact of volcanic nature, from which this track, and the upcoming album, will reveal in its nature. It’s courageous, and ambitious in its manner of pulling delicate, short pieces from various genres, mixing them to create not only a scene but a story as well.
