Ready for something mischevious and wild? This Steampunk-esque, rockabilly filled, sci-fi Trap Fantasy adventure is all about one thing – revenge!
Another production by, and featuring The Death of Zenith, The Antihero combines genres to create a Sci-Fi Western Comic Book OST.
In a world where vengeance is immortal, and justice is mere fable, the city is held by those who survive.
In the depths of the neon-lit, steam-riddled streets of an unknown metropolis, The Antihero VS The Death of Zenith is this year’s dual of fates. Set to an epic musical track list, this intense, high-stakes battle between a masked vigilante enforcing his own signature style of Marshall Law (The Antihero) and a hooded stranger with an unknown past (The Death of Zenith) paints a picture unlike any other.

This 7-track concept EP is a an epic where the fortitude of steampunk meets the brilliance of cyberpunk as rebellious country slams into raw industrial-metal. The songwriting creativity of The Antihero‘s debut album My Old Ways receives a gracious nod, finding progression through this round of fury and passion. Touched upon by Grim Salvo and Witch House 40k, worlds collide with gritty Nine Inch Nails-style production, rounded out with Mushroomhead combinations between The Antihero‘s coarse Tennessee richness and The Death of Zenith‘s scream-style rapping and theatrical presence.
With the wisdom of Solunar Records to guide them, The Antihero VS The Death of Zenith unveils an immersive, heart-stopping creative through mystifying southern melodies, bone-breaking riff work, and beats that come in like a heavy steam-powered freight train.
This isn’t a soundtrack, it’s a battlefield.
With a swift yet deceitful introduction, we meet “The Death of Zenith” – a whisper on the wind. A shadow in the streets that makes your heart pound and your head sweat. It’s eerie and mysterious, with a hint of dread creeping in on electronic pride that sends a shiver down the spine. “Tonight is different…“
Well met as “The Antihero” (feat. The Death of Zenith) plays out like the arrival of a long-time rival. The arch-nemesis settling onto a battleground long prophesied by a blind poet. The blend of vicious, raw vocals against clean, rap verses is perfectly executed as this rival duo spins their first face off as they step into the light. It’s quick and passionate, displaying both combatants and their exquisite skill set simply yet with flawless impact.
“Salvation” strides in on horseback with that signature guitar ‘twang’ and the rattle of snake-like tension. It’s catchy, blues-infused madness that’s raw and rigid with the perfect balance of vocal prowess and melodic power. Easily my favourite off this 7-track concept creation, it brings that Steampunk vibe to the front to paint the scene in hues of grit and dirt while bouncing off the rails through catchy bass hits that really get you moving.
“The Me You Hate” sounds just as vicious as its execution. A track riddled with painful moans and tension, the bass beats rise up and the aggression hits the floor. It’s jaw-dropping and rabid with the mix of harsh vocals echoing through caged walls while the cleans call back. It’s a dungeon-crawler sound that scratches an unexpected itch, bringing that cyberpunk feel through electronic back-beats and shocking noise. A song to really get you feeling the hate.
“Darklight” feat. The Death of Zenith continues that Cyberpunk uprising with signature start-up sounds and unnerving robotics. It’s got a solid melody along its bass-line while uncovering more about our opponents and how deep their rivalry goes. Heaviness doesn’t take a backseat on this one, with the heavy metal elements rising up to bludgeon and scream right in your face.

“Brothers” feat. The Death of Zenith is that gentle combination track that hints at the backstory, the “what happened” and “what if” that settles in like an odd round of deja vu. It’s melodic and catchy, featuring both combatants in all their vocal glory, showcasing their abilities to produce clean features just as well as they do their heavies. Enemies or friends? Or rather.. friends to enemies? It’s a strong back-and-forth that comes in as passionate as any heavy track but really puts an emphasis on the lyrics to let raw emotion pour through from start to finish.
Closing out the battle is “Aftermath” feat. The Death of Zenith that puts the backbone back into our battlers with screams and hollers that bring in the majesty of this track’s blend. It’s a mixture of western fusion and rap that still touches on trap melody and metal noise. A well articulated creation that truly encompasses the dueling fates between these brothers. It’s reminiscent of 90’s and early 2000’s rap with that signature intensity that comes across without letting the bass overtake the entire concept. An epic closer and an even more badass track that really gets into your ears and gets you ready for Round 2.

Overall, this EP is a perfect performance in how 7 quick-hitting tracks can easily create an entire story from beginning to end. With perfectly placed music creating a visual palette, the lyrics overlap in a gentle, yet not overwhelming way to really get listeners understanding who these two are, and what’s about to go down. It’s no surprise that The Antihero and The Death of Zenith would bring us the ultimate showdown, and this EP puts it out on the open in full, sci-fi epic display.
