Burger-stomping legends Seven Kingdoms rise once again with their dynamic EP, set to debut November 8th, titled “The Square“. This Power Metal quartet rides the waves of excitement after signing onto Reigning Phoenix Music, a partnership that not only starts a new chapter for these Florida Power Metal giants but, perfectly compliments this upcoming banger!
Reigning Phoenix Music states: “RPM is very excited to start our new partnership with DMG (Distortion Music Group) and Maurizio Iacono, and offering a new song from Seven Kingdoms is a great way to kick it off!”
Manager Maurizio Iacono further adds: “With the new firepower that RPM will be providing to DMG artists, you can bet that American power metal sensation Seven Kingdoms will be making a lot of noise in the coming year. The Floridians are one of the fastest-rising heavy metal bands from North America, and we expect them to make waves worldwide with their virtuoso guitar skills, impressive vocal range, catchy anthems, and entertaining live shows.”

Guitarist Camden Cruz comments “It’s an honor and privilege to join the RPM family alongside bands like Helloween, Kerry King, Meshuggah, Sonata Arctica and many more! We’ve been independent for some time, and we’re thrilled to join a team where that independence can coexist with a proper label. With this EP we have best of both worlds behind us and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship here with Reigning Phoenix Music!
“‘The Square’ is our latest offering. In this EP we deliver a sampling of what sounds and feels we are aiming to bring to the next full release which will also come out on RPM late next year! We hope you love it as much as we do, and we will bring this material on our North American Headlining tour with Striker and Lutharo in November and December and also to Europe when we support Unleash The Archers in February and March 2025!“

Title track “The Square” kicks off this band’s untamed energy with a ride into war. It’s fast, ferocious, and downright METAL!! Sabrina Cruz brings in that vocal prowess to absolutely crush the chorus that is just as infectious as it is beautiful.
“(Let me go) Hold me tight
(Push away) It’s ok
If you don’t love me now
Leave enough so I don’t fall apart
(Let me go) Call my name
(Call my name) It’s ok
But please don’t break my heart
Love me enough to finally let go…”
And when that breakdown hits? It’s even better!
The band brings their absolute best to open this EP, really swarming around you to bring you into the depths and overwhelm you with with wildness from Camden and Kevin’s guitar riffs, cranked to the max by Keith’s unyielding drum beats.
The follow-up track, “Through These Waves” takes the Power Metal speed and switches it up for righteous heaviness! This track is wildly complimented by its accompanying music video that sees elements of legend and folklore amplifying its tale with Sabrina’s adornments. Mysticism and fury are enhanced by bewildered guitar solos and epic performance, giving this track an unparalleled power.
The tattered ruins that fall within “Wilted Pieces” gives this power ballad the imagery it deserves. The carefree electronic keys that stride forward, with that powerful, 80’s-style intro really bring all that nostalgia into a vivid reality. It’s such a pure and simple track that upholds its feel through classic guitar work and solid, steady melody. It’s stunning, strong, and catchy, with Sabrina’s vocals really snagging me to put it on repeat playthroughs and pauses just to hear those high notes again and again.

That electronic element dances in once more on the heavy-hitting “The Serpent and The Lotus” that sees Power Metal at its finest. Sabrina’s signature metal cry at the beginning absolutely soars! It’s speedy and classic, going back to Power Metal roots with its melody while adding bits of heaviness, and even a touch of thrash can be detected in its creation. It keeps the overall energy of this EP on an untouchable high, bringing the ballad, and touches of inspiration together; snaking its way from the square, through the waves into the end.
Complimenting this EP’s energy comes Seven Kingdoms‘ cover of Mister Mister’s “Kyrie“. Do yourself a favour and listen to the OG before indulging in this track so you can appreciate both the nods to a classic and the creative twists Seven Kingdoms add to their own version. Covering this 80’s tune really brings this EP together as a whole, finishing it off with utter perfection. This whimsical track, echoed by its bits of electronic mystery are cranked by Sabrina’s perfectly matched vocals. She pulls in her own influences from the past, taking those Power Metal ballads back to their foundation by belting it out full force for this one. It’s the perfect end to a perfect EP, with the sway of a captivating track hitting the EP’s every corner and coming to center on a beautiful finale.
