Detroit Rockers, Pharaohs, give us a taste of the classics with “Great Unknown”

Date: May 2, 2024Author: Valkyrjia 0 Comments

Detroit Rockers Pharaohs have unveiled their debut single, and accompanying video, for “Great Unknown.” With a full length album slated for release in late 2024, this track offers us a taste of comfort and clarity.

With guitars painting vivid landscapes, and powerful rhythms cascading over the horizon, the mix of strong and gentle, boasted by the band’s charismatic demeanor, is bountiful. Pharaohs is shameless yet luxuriant in their blend of hard rock, progressive rock, alternative sound, and melodic instigation.

Brought forth by Grammy-winning producer Al Sutton (Kid Rock, Greta Van Fleet, Alice Cooper) in July of 2020, lead vocalist Cam Clark from Louisville meshed well with solo expert and lead guitarist Sammy Boller, drummer John Dudley, and bassist Steve Lehane that saw them blossom into multiple writing and recording sessions at Sutton’s famous Rustbelt Studios in Detroit, Michigan.

Kicking off the new year with a live performance on January 1st of 2021, Pharaohs took their first true gig to heart, airing the performance virtually on their social media sites, bringing praise and intrigue that’s only allowed them to flourish.

Their debut track, “Great Unknown” instantly gives of Kings of Leon vibes in both melody and vocals. It’s smooth and instantly catchy with tender guitar work that slowly rises on an ever-persistent bass line and stunning drum beat. The chorus takes to the heaviness, giving you a sound that’s easy to blast out the car window on that drive home from watching the sun set on the beach. It’s a song I’ve easily listened to 10x on the first click, and one I’ll have on my playlist for years to come when I need that loud, classic sound that gets me in a good mood.

It’s a short and simple track, utilizing Cam’s vocal prowess to shine through and keep those angelic notes soaring. Tack on the steady beat and the lingering guitar strings and you’ve got an instant radio classic.

You can snag your own copy of the track via the Pharaohs link. And don’t forget to follow the band on all their socials to keep up-to-date with releases, news, and much more!
