July has seen an absolute eruption of new music videos and singles from across the Metalverse; one such banger comes from Germany’s Modern metal giants, Equilibrium, with their brand-new video for their latest single titled “Shelter”.

“During the last months, we contemplated much of what Equilibrium means to us – morally and lyrically. And even though there are some important parameters shaping our styles we usually just start writing without questioning the process at all,” says band leader Rene.

With some of my own personal favourites throughout the years being releases like “Tornado”, “Hype Train”, “Blut Im Auge,” and “Heimat”, Equilibrium now reassures fans and fascinators alike that they’re ready to keep the adrenaline pumping.

The video itself is a barrage of emotional turmoil, mixing high-running anxiety and melancholy with a strange sense of freedom through release. Bringing back their signature sound that mixes melodic rhythm and folk heart with enigmatic electronics, the band proves once again that silence does not mean departure. Equilibrium brings titan-like size and energy with this blistering track that fuses darkness with rebirth, “we are standing on the edge with you. We are the colours when you dream in dark blue, we are your shelter when the world turns anew,” – a line that offers solidarity and comfort when things feel most fragile. Such as with the introduction of new vocalist Fabian Getto, who fits seamlessly alongside the metal veterans.

Uplifting as always, Equilibrium continue to produce infectious and inspirational songs bound to linger. With fans new and old falling into place with the harmonious balance this band unleashes, all that’s left to do is bite our nails in anticipation for what’s to come.
